Multi-language Alternate hreflang tech info
Categories: site building
Some times you get a bit of coding working well and you just want to shout, yeaaaaahhh! As part of our new multi-language homepage and site we need to use code to tell Google which pages we have in different languages. Over time we will have many languages and even more pages. Keeping track of what page is replicated in what language opens up the potential to a lot of bugs, or even worse, a Google penalty for duplicate content. The code snipped below handles this automatically. Now we can add a new page and/or a new language and it all just works. This is just a small example of what happens behind the scenes at Saucydates.com.
